As a student at Aston 1969-73, I had some enjoyable trad jazz evenings (Sundays I think) in the upstairs room at this old pub. Resident musicians were the Eagle Jazz Band.

I used to go to the old crown in the sixties and seventies great nights plenty
of fun and good jazz .I have made several recordings at the old crown and also
at the jazz festival Summerfield park 1970.
